We’re looking for 2 Network/ Civils Operatives to join EIS, here you will work alongside the Team Leader as part of a small two-person team based in Exeter and able to support other Heat Network sites across the UK. The role supports day-to-day underground civils’ and excavation works within live environments and requires a reliable, safety-focused approach, supporting the proactive and reactive underground works across all sites when needed. Able to work on own initiatives to identify and resolve network issues safely and effectively.


Key responsibilities

  • Support with underground civils works
  • Carry out excavation works, including working within deep excavations
  • Assist with trench support systems under direction
  • Assist with site set-up including fencing, barriers, signage, and SLG
  • Carry out backfilling and reinstatement works
  • Work in public highways (non-motorway) and private land
  • Setup safe working sites in live traffic areas
  • Oversee and manage 3rd party contractors when onsite and ensure compliance.
  • Collate and report on investigation works, using digital tooling
  • Co-ordinate and plan with Customer service any interruptions to service
  • Provide support within Energy Centres when required.
  • Able to repair or reconfigure pipework inside and outside of Energy Centres.
  • Carry out proactive maintenance tasks on all assets across all areas.
  • Maintain good site housekeeping standards

What we need from you

  • NRSWA full operative card
  • Proven civils and excavation experience
  • Experience working in underground environments
  • Experience supporting site set-up and SLG
  • Able to work effectively as part of a small team
  • Full UK driving licence
